How would baseball have been different if Ted Williams had been traded for Joe DiMaggio?
In 1949, a trade was proposed that would have sent Ted Williams from the Red Sox to the Yankees for Joe DiMaggio. How do you think this would have changed the careers of both men, the teams themselves, and the American League pennant races of the 1950's?

- werent they talking about this on tv yesterday? i dont think it would have changed much, it would have made both teams worse because yankee stadium was built for lefties and fenway for righties
- Ted would have gotten to sleep with Marilyn Monroe!
- It would have been a bad trade for the Red Sox as Joe Dimaggio only played until 1951 before retiring, while Ted Williams despite missing 52' and 53' for the Korean War, played until 1960.
