How did Joe DiMaggio's hit streak end?
What happened? did he strikeout all game or not get a hit all game or get walked all game or come in as a pinch hitter and not get on base and not get to continue playing or what?

- On July 17, 1941, pitchers Al Smith and Jim Bagby of the Cleveland Indians held (Dimaggio) hitless. Two (2) hard hit shots came close, but great defensive stops by third baseman Ken Keltner ended the streak.
- DiM's streak ended against the Cleveland Indians and a pitcher named ummmmm....."Al Smith". That's right, Al Smith, and a reliever named reliever Jim Bagby Jr. I seem to remember that Indian third baseman Ken Keltner, robbed him of a couple near hits as he was hugging the line and completed two deep throws to first. DiM walked once. Supposedly the reliever threw him all fastballs. Interestingly, the day after the streak ended, DiM started another hitting streak that lasted 17 games.
