Who might be considered "todays" JOE DIMAGGIO? - And why? This is for school.?

Doing a report. Want to know which baseball player(s) might be considered "todays" Joe DiMaggio, and why??

Public Comments

  1. Jacoby Ellsbury
  2. You'd have to combine the skills of the 5 best players to come close to Joltin' Joe! The last player to even come close to the famous 56 was Paul Molitor and that was 10 years ago.
  3. Curtis Granderson.
  4. Probably Derek Jeter. DiMaggio was known for his excellent skills on the field over a period of many years, of course, and for conducting himself as a gentleman off the field as well. He was well-liked by fans and teammates, admired by adversaries. Like Jeter, he dated female celebrities (and sent flowers to Marilyn Monroe's grave his whole life). There's not really another DiMaggio, and I'm no Yankees fan, but I can't think of anybody closer.
  5. consistence, looks, attitude towards the game, leadership qualities, loved by all fans, played for one team, love and admire by people who knows nothing about baseball. Only one person comes close DEREK JETER Mohamed
  6. there will never be another jolten joe
  7. Deffinitly Derek Jeter.
  8. Nobody! Not only do you have to be one of--if not the best--total ballplayers, you would have to have the additional credibility of serving your country in a war. And since there is no current version of Marilyn Monroe, there is nobody to marry. Derek Jeter would need to have won several of his last big playoffs to be a serious candidate and he would have to marry Jessica Biel AND she would have to become a big star. It is frankly a dumb question by your teacher. It's like asking who today's Muhammed Ali or Jackie Robinson is. They are unique.
  9. Albert Pujols. St. Louis. Not a runner, like Joe D., but a big HR and RBI guy with high batting average. Also a stand up good guy.
