[Poll] My university is offering classes on the New York Yankees. What are your thoughts on this?
So I'm going to be a freshman at UC Davis, which is near San Francisco. I was looking through my schedule when I saw a class that look very odd. Seminar: The dynasty of the New York Yankees I signed up for that class even though I HATE the New York Yankees. Besides, I rather be studying the Yankees than Biology or Chemistry. What would you have done in that situation? Go Giants! :P its 2 units

- I would take it and I HATE the Yanks! It's a seminar though, so what it's probably only worth 1 credit, right??? I'd still take it though!
- I love the Yankees, sign me up. That sounds awesome.
- Waste of credits unless you're studying steroid abuse.
- Well, I think it would be an interesting class, regardless if you like the Yankees or not, I'm thinking of majoring in either Kinesology (Sports Medicine), Sports Management, or Biology, so I would have taken that only because I want to major in it, but I think it would be an interesting class, having a baseball related class would be the best!
- While I personally hate the Yankees, I'd be really interested in studying their history because of all the legends that have been on their team.
- The Yankees are an interesting study in business if nothing else. Steinbrenner bought the team for 8 or 9 mil in '73 and turned it into a 1.6 billion dollar entity.
- I am actually in a similar situation. I was kind of unhappy with my college choice, and was planning on transferring. Then, I hear Dr. Smith (the most awesome prof ever) mention (in a class I HAD to re-take because I failed it first semester- so, if I hadn't failed it, I wouldn't have heard him say this) that, next year, he will be teaching a History of Baseball course. So, my favorite teacher EVER (when I was REALLY unhappy with my school, I said I would love to somehow take him with me to teach there) is teaching the most awesome COURSE EVER. I stayed because of this.
- Transfer to Berkeley.
- This must count as a business credit, because it surely has nothing to do with ethics.
- That's a waste of money. Spend it wisely when you're in college, that's your future, and what the hell are the Yankees going to have to do with that?
- i would have picked the subjects that i thought would best suit my needs on either being educated, or finding a job. If the subject that i did not pick was going to make me more eligible for a job, and i picked a subject that i found easier, then, things might work out, but by reason, things should have a better chance of working out in finding a job if i did not the easier subject.
