Do the New York Yankees get all profit from NY Logo hats?

As you know, the NY NewEra caps come in many designs colors and so on. So much that even non New York natives or fans buy them. Do the New York Yankees get profit from NewEra for the use of this logo or are the yankees not true owners of the logo.

  1. Highest Payroll in Pro Sports I watch CBS News tonight they make 76.6 million Dollars their Hats are popular to all of us.
  2. I am guessing that the Yankees own the logos through copyrights. This means that every hat that New Era sells, the Yankees get a certain amount of money from the profits. So yeah, the Yankees do get money from the company.
  3. They only get the licensing fee which is paid to them by those using their logo. I believe that the price is decided for all teams as a whole by MLB and the money is most likely funneled down from them to the teams in one form or another. NASCAR licensing fees are actually higher than baseball and football hence the higher priced merchandise.... just a fun fact.
  4. MLB Properties disburses licensing income equally among all 30 teams, regardless of sales figures.
