why do many women attend Major league baseball but very few men attend Womens Soft ball league games? True?

Some men say Major league Baseball is the place to be via television or at the game itself. Many women say Major league baseball is the place to be Many men say womens softball leagues will never compare to Major league baseball because women are inferior to men physically. I say that women are capable of playing major league baseball.

1. Its probably the duration of the game the speed is very important once u are used to watch fast games, u tend to dislike slower games, i guess if u put it this way Male=faster, women=slower.

3. I always find that little league t-ball is the place to be, either in the stands or on community access television. Some of my friends say that minor league bocce ball is the place to be, either in the park or on the lawn. Other women I know think that foxy-boxing is the place to be, either at the bar or in the basement of the YWCA. I guess all we can agree on is that certain things are the certain places to be. Certainly.

5. First, most women aren't capable of competing at the same level as MLB players. It's not sexist, there are just physiological differences. Second, there is no professional, nationwide softball league. I know there are a few small leagues scattered around the country, but nothing like MLB. So where do you propose we go watch these softball games? I enjoy watching women's college softball on TV or in person, but it's still not as exciting as MLB.
6. I dont think that it is a superiority / inferiority issue.... but i have not seen any women try out for (male) baseball from high school and on in any formalized level. I am sure they can play but has any girl ever tackled the sport. I have heard of female football players, rugby players, hockey players, soccer players all play on the men's formalized (school or professional) team, but not baseball. Likewise, i do know there is a professional women's softball league, but do you know of any MEN that play on those teams (not talking about your local softball league after work)?
7. Men attend very few women's sports games period; with the exception of tennis and golf. Men can learn a lot about their swing from watching women play because their swings are slower than a man's swing. I wouldn't go as far as saying women are capable of playing major league baseball.
8. same goes for basketball - title IX and the WNBA complain about fair share for women, but even women don't support the teams - don't blame men for that. same even goes for hollywood- you hear complaints there are no strong roles for women... BS. there are plenty, only nobody (women included) pay to go see the movies when they are made. women are every bit as capable of tuning in or buying a ticket. last I checked there were every bit as many women in this country as men; so quit blaming us when women's leagues and teams go under.
9. Many more women also attend MLB games when compared to women's softball games. The reason is really very simple, MLB is decisively more popular than women's softball.
10. Actually - Raffdaddy has it backwards. If you take the time to truly watch a woman's fastpitch game - either College WS level or Olympic level - you will find that the action is faster than most MLB games. Why? Because the bases and the mound are closer. It takes less time for the play to develop or conclude. This may be the problem. Snap - Bang - it's over. There is no time for the anticipatory questions in you mind (Will he get it, will he make the throw, can the runner advance?). It's just over. Add to that the fact that Softball did come second, it's primarily played by woman and you have a recipe for a second rate sport at best. As for woman not being physically able to play MLB - I don't buy it. I will agree that no person born a woman could survive in the NFL, the NHL or even the NBA. These are contact sports (Yes, even the NBA) but baseball is different. The thing is - most talented woman ball players are recruited for softball in HS or college - and there is no road back. The game is too different. Women would not be a power hitter but she could play, given the chance and an even playing field.

14. If you recall, it wasn't proper for women to play any sport except tennis, croquet and horse-back riding well into the 60's. Girls were girly, and the rest of us were called tomboys. My friends and I played "hardball" everyday, but when we went to school we were forced to play softball. It's not that women are inferior, we have been forced into doing whatever we can to continue playing. Women that do play baseball prefer to be ON the field playing as opposed to watching. (Hence the softball leagues.) And if we cannot play, we watch. Yes, women absolutely could play Major League Baseball, but the world still isn't ready to accept that. It's a matter of politics and a form of discrimination. Why? Because if there were Womens Major League baseball teams and the men lost, they would be castrated publically.
