Why are the New York Yankees all of a sudden good?

What has clicked for the Yankees? Are they a threat again to win the AL East? Did anyone REALLY doubt them?

Theyve always been good, they just werent performing. I imagine Jeter, Posada, and Pettitte let the others have it and gave them a speech telling them to pull their heads out of their you know and start playing like they are paid too.
No doubt here Red Sox fans were ALL talk when thet doubted our team. Hey Red Sox fans!!! Keep telling us how bad our starting pitching is..... Wang Petitte Clemens Mussina Hughes Suck on that!!!
They were good all along. They just weren't winning. Now they are, and they will keep winning, and will win the World Series. Tough luck, Met and Red Sox fans!
I doubted them and I still do. What has helped them to win 9 in a row is there hitting. Alot of the guys that were in slumps are now hitting and that is what's helping. But I don't expect it to last to long. They also still have alot of doubts in there bullpen.
Confidence. What really sucks is that it was Paps that was the catalyst to their resurgence.
That's baseball. Before they were losing and all the players were on edge, frustrated trying to hit two home runs every at bat so they could finally win a game. Once they took 2 of 3 from the Red Sox at Fenway, they said to themselves "hey we can win!" Now they're relaxed, having fun, and on a roll. I can't remember exactly what the great Yogi Berra said, but he was right: "90% of the game is half mental."

The pitching has start to come around. They are a threat to win the east and i personally never doubted them. Ok maybe a little doubt but if they keep there staff the way it is and stay healthy then they could take over in the east.
Very simple: Bobby Abreu. Jeter, Rodriguez, and Posada were all having great years, but Abreu was really struggling. He's found his stroke, has caught fire, and their pitching is healthy again. It's a pretty solid combination. Granted it is one streak and it has yet to be seen if they can maintain it. If I were a Yankees fan I wouldn't be talking trash just yet.
because their pitch and offense has come together and now the opponent is scoring, and the yankees are, causing may blowouts.
Are you forgetting that we had a SLEW of injurys in the beginning of the season? Torre used like 14 different starting pitchers in a 6 week time frame! Did you really think the team would just lay down and die? Sorry that's not the Yankee way! Nothing clicked,everything went wrong,,Now things are starting to click! they have always been good but at the beginning or the year they were not combining good pitching and hitting like one gay great pitching no hitting and great hitting and no pitching they have done that the last 10 games 7 runs per game avg and 2.64 era amazing there ALways a threat in the al east no as i fan i have faith since the beginning
In April in May when they wore horrible they had multiple pitching injuries. Now with a healthy pitching staff with Wang, Clemens, Mussina, and Pettite, and the hitting doing better, the Yankees are making a run at the playoffs. Yes many people doubted them at rock bottom when they were 14.5 back. Now they're around 8 back, and only 3.5 back from the wild card. I think they'll win the East by a landslide, and the Sox will get the wild card.
the yankees is a threat in the league even before the season has started.. the line-up is simply amazing comparing to any team in the league.. although A-Rod had an amazing start last April they just couldnt have that fire power they usually had.. he had a BAD MAY but just put that behind, see what he has done for the past few weeks.. also they were hampered by some injuries to their pitching and field line-ups.. Jeter, Posada has consistently been hitting good since the start of the season.. Abreu catching up to lost hits at the start and now connecting nicely.. The support cast has been awesome for this team.. Pitching Rotation for the yankee is scary.. at the start you have Wang, Pettite, Mussina, Hughes and now see what Clippard has done and welcome the Rocket!! GO YANKEES!!!
For a while their starting pitchers couldn't make it past 5 innings without getting pulled. The offense is finally hitting to their expectations, Arod/Posada were the only ones hitting for the first 2 months. They've had a pretty weak schedule, especially against the NL interleague matchups. The Red Sox slide over the last week has made the Yanks look even better. But it wont last much longer.
they'll never catch the red sox and will not catch the wild card, they will miss out in the end.
Two reasons: 1. Bobby Abreu 2. Alex Rodriguez Both are now hitting; ARod has driven in 21 runs over the past 9 games. That will get you some wins.
Probably just a fluke. Even if they win the division they will just blow it after like they have the past few times.
A-Rod and a $200,000,000 dollar payroll might have something to do with it
Because Giambi quit jamming the base paths and they put Melky in center. Their pitching got better also.
