Do you think the Patriots of the NFL is the NFL's version of the New York Yankees?

The Patriots are a really good football team and haven't lost a game yet. Do you think the Patriots are the NFL's version of the New York Yankees with all the really good players?

3. not really the NFL's patriots work under a salary cap, the MLB's Yankees spend at least 50 million more then any other team in baseball, (100 million more then most teams). The only similarity is that in recent years they both have had considerable success. Historically theirs no comparison the yanks have 26 championships while the patriots have only 3, the dallas cowboys are the closest thing to the yankees in the nfl, they have eight superbowl appearences with 5 wins, and even that isnt really a close comparison

6. As a team the New England Patriots seem to be humble and work as a team and have respect for thier opponents. The Yankees on the other hand have been dubbed the evil empire because of thier arrogance when they are winning and their lack of respect for other teams. The Patriots management is nowhere close to being the greedy corporate orginazation that the Yankees management is.

The NFL is a salary cap league... so the Patriots work under the same constraints as every other team in the league... and unlike the Yankees, they do not have the best and highest player in the game (Alex Rodriguez), nor do they have the winning tradition of the Yankees. The only two professional sports teams that even come close to the yankees are the Boston Celtics and Montreal Canadians.
9. No, the Patriots were great before they brought in other good players ex: Randy Moss. The Patriots built their team on good draft picks and a good coach. They Yankees are hell bent on buying a team (Clemens, Rodriguez, etc.)and getting in a biding war to get Santana and they still haven't won in a long time.

And as far as having all the good players, besides Randy Moss, how many of them were superstars before they played in New England.

14. In a way yes, the big difference is that people say that the Yankees bought their championships, which they kind of did. In football you can't do that because of the strict salary cap. The Yankees definatley WERE a dynasty and the Patriots defiatley ARE a dynasty. They also both have great players, but the Patriots made there players good the Yankees aquired good players because of the money aspect.

16. See, it's not really a good comparison (although one that's been made a lot) . The main reason why the Yankees are as dominant as they are is that they just throw as much money as necessary at any player they want in order to sign him. They've literally bought championship teams. The Patriots play with (actually below on a regular basis) a pretty tight salary cap. And honestly, they've let go of some seriously talented players, and just replace them with guys that other teams have overlooked. People hate them for the same reasons though. They have been pretty dominant for the last few years. Nobody likes the guy on top.
