How would you react if the New York Yankees did not make the playoffs in 2008?
For the last 12 years, the New York Yankees have made the postseason in Major League Baseball either as the American League Wild Card Winners of the American League East Division Champions. This year in 2008, the Yankees have not played well and could miss the playoffs due to the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox having the potential of making the postseason. If the New York Yankees do not make the playoffs in 2008, how would you react knowing that this is the Yankees not making the postseason in 12 years?

- i am lifelong yankee fan, and predicted that they would finish third in 2008! why? no pitching, and no consistency at all on offense! i will wind up winning 2,000 dollars in bet i made in april!! so ha! ha! i love it!! at least mets have chance, that is!! if the bullpen does not choke again!!
- Two words: PAR-TAY!
- I could care less...
- i'm going to be very disappointedbecause the yanks have a long tradition of winning and excelence. this season was a failure and theres no excuse.
- If the Yanks don't make the playoffs, Steinbrenner will have a heart attack
- It's 13 years, actually. Remember, they made it in '95, Buck Showalter's last season as manager. And I'd be a bit down about it. But the injuries and inconsistency have taken their toll, so I'm prepared for it. Besides, I didn't expect them to be championship contenders this year, anyway. I won't like it, but I'll deal. I'll just focus on football and hockey and later college basketball along with some NBA. I lived through the '80s, when the Yankees only made the playoffs once (lost to the Dodgers in the '81 World Series) and had to endure two Mets playoff appearances in that decade. I'll be fine. The Yankees will be back next year. All that said, I'm not giving up on the season until they're officially out of it.
- I can't even believe I am answering this question....as we all know...never say die when it comes to the yankees...(argh!) and i don't want to jinx anything but i will be just fine with it.....its good for them to come down off the pedestal everyone puts them on.....except us bosox fans! :-)
- I wish I could say that I would be disappointed to see them miss the playoffs this year, but the yankees have played sub-par baseball all season long. I would be more disappointed if they make it, which would mean that the Red Sox or Rays collapsed at the end of the year like the 07 mets.
- I think it personally proves that god is real and is fed up with the Yankees and there retarded schemes for buying their way into the playoffs. Especially since that havent won recently. The Fish in 2003 and Gonzo in 2001 off Rivera ha ha i loved that when he hit that bloop and im sure their are a lot more people out their who are glad that the yankees arent going to make the playoffs Go RedSox Go Rays Go White Sox Go Twins keep those yankee out of the playoffs!!!!!!
- I've been waiting for a long time.
- First I will walk around my work, finding all the Yankees fans, so I can say "Wow, can you believe it? No playoffs for the Yankees. The Yankees aren't going to make the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. Wow. Who would have thought it would happen. The Yankees aren't going to make the playoffs. This is probably the lowest they've been since the 80's. Wow." Then, when I drive home, I will listen to the Syracuse Sports station and they will be talking about how the Yankees didn't make the playoffs and probably won't next year, either. I will keep laughing. I will also post a lot of obnoxious questions and answers on here, to rub the salt in the wounds of as many Yankees fans as possible.
- Thank goodness!!!
- I would be a little disappointed but would move on & still look forward to watching the post season & no matter what any hater says, they had a good long streak at making the play offs(1995-2007) which no other team can match. 13 straight years making the play offs & when Yankees miss the play offs, the longest consectutive seasons making the play offs will be 2 if any or all of these teams (Phillies, Rockies, Cubs, Red Sox, Angels, Diamondbacks) make the play offs. All good things do end at some point, ask the 2007 New England Patriots
- I hope the Oakland A's make the playoffs. They're the only AL team I follow very well.
