How could I possibly watch the 2010 all star game.? I have a baseball game on July 13 at 6. Since the game starts at 8 and my game is at least two hours long and the drive is quite a ways a way, how could I possibly watch the beginning. Is there any site that I could watch the ENTIRE game on replay, not just highlights?
Would you pay $500 for 1 nosebleed ticket for the 2010 All Star Game? The all star game is coming to anaheim in 2010 & everything here is 10 times more expensive then anywhere else. I'm guessing on ebay i will be lucky to get 1 ticket in the nosebleed seats for $500 for the homerun derby & all star game. Would you pay $500 for 3 hrs of baseball? Or would you watch the game at home for free?
Is it possible for Albert Pujols to NOT start in the 2010 All-Star game? Hypothetically speaking, say Pujols, Fielder, Howard, and Helton had nearly identical stats next year, do you think that anyone besides Pujols would make the cut to start the 2010 All-Star game? It seems to me like Pujols is such a legend in the minds of baseball fans that they would vote him in no matter what. (Kinda like how Wright beat out Sandoval at 3B, despite Sandoval beating him in average, doubles, HRs, and RBIs)
Will the Mets be the best team in baseball in 2010? With the signings of Roy Halladay, Jake Peavy, Bobby Abreu & Bengi Molina to go along with Santana, Wright, Reyes & myself this will be a unstoppable ball club that will dominate baseball in 2010. NL will also win the all star game in 2010 so how do you like the Mets hosting the Yankees in a 2010 world series?
MLB changing & putting new rules for the All Star Game. Your thoughts? Story inside->? NEW YORK (AP) -- There will be two extra All-Stars this summer. Rosters have been expanded again by commissioner Bud Selig's special committee for on-field matters, with each team bringing 34 players to the July 13 game in Anaheim, Calif. A pitcher who starts on the final Sunday before the All-Star break will be ineligible to pitch in the All-Star game and will be replaced on the roster, Major League Baseball said in a change announced Wednesday. In addition, a designated hitter will be used in the All-Star game every year, including in NL cities. The DH has been used since 1989 when the All-Star game was played in AL ballparks. There would have been a DH anyway for this year's game. "The changes are designed to make the All-Star game as competitive a contest as it could possibly be," said Rob Manfred, baseball's executive vice president of labor relations. The players' association already has approved the changes. All-Star rosters have steadily expanded. There were 28 players per team from 1969-97, and the size increased to 30 with expansion in 1998. After the infamous 7-7, 11-inning tie in Milwaukee in 2002, when teams ran out of pitchers, rosters expanded to 32 players, including 12 pitchers, the following year, when the game first started counting for World Series home-field advantage. The size increased to 33 players, including 13 pitchers, last summer, and will now be 34 players, with 13 pitchers per team. Under a change that runs contrary to normal baseball rules, each manager may designate a position player who will be eligible for re-entry to the game if the final position player -- at any position -- is injured. Previously, there was a special All-Star rule allowing re-entry only to replace an injured catcher http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/baseball/mlb/04/28/all.star.game.changes.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
Who is the National Council of La Raza to demand MLB to pull 2011 All-Star game from AZ? Washington (CNN) - On the day of President Obama's immigration reform speech, several advocacy groups launched a campaign urging Major League Baseball move next summer's All-Star Game from Phoenix. The 2011 All-Star Game is currently scheduled to take place in Arizona, a state that signed its controversial immigration bill into law this past April. Arizona's immigration law requires immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there's reason suspect they're in the United States illegally. The law also targets businesses that hire illegal immigrant laborers or knowingly transport them. The campaign, directed at MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, was launched as a joint effort by some civil rights groups such as the National Council of La Raza, Asian American Justice Center, Center for Community Change, League of United Latin American Citizens, and the National Puerto Rican Coalition. As part of the campaign, a petition has been posted on the website urging those who oppose the law to send a letter not only to Selig but to their favorite baseball team's general manager. This campaign is urging its supporters to "uphold our nation's diversity," and encourages its supporters to call Selig by posting the MLB's phone number on their site. The web site said baseball is a game "that transcends all barriers and brings America together, reminding us of what makes us unique: our diversity." The site also said America's favorite pastime "is in danger of losing its reputation," if the game is held in Arizona. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/07/01/groups-urge-mlb-to-pull-2011-all-star-game-from-az/?fbid=1kqvA61Msd-
La Raza demands 2011 All-Star game out of Arizona & how come La Raza doesn't get out of Arizona? Major League Baseball is preparing to host its All-Star game Tuesday, and roughly one-third of the players who will be in Anaheim are African American and Latino. Hispanic and African American players typically make up a third of all those playing major-league ball, with hundreds more in the minors. Given the diversity of today's game, it is especially frustrating that baseball Commissioner Bud Selig remains silent about the nightmare next year's All-Star game could pose for millions of Americans. Major League Baseball is scheduled to play its 2011 All-Star Game in Phoenix, where discrimination and racial profiling will effectively be sanctioned by SB1070, Arizona's controversial new immigration law. Unless the league acts, next year our favorite all-stars could enter a hostile environment, and the families, friends and fans of a third of the players could be treated as second-class citizens because of their skin color or the way they speak. This law isn't about solving the immigration issue; it's about scapegoating, an established practice in Arizona. For years, law enforcement agencies have criticized the Maricopa County sheriff's office for not serving felony arrest warrants in favor of conducting "saturation" sweeps in which hundreds of Latinos have been indiscriminately arrested in order to find undocumented immigrants. Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon has stated that "citizens are being stopped because they are brown," and in a letter to the Justice Department he asked for a federal investigation into Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio based on his "pattern and practice of conduct that includes discriminatory harassment, improper stops, searches, and arrests." And this was before SB1070 became law. What is happening in Arizona is a regression from the freedoms we hold dear and a violation of our civil rights and fundamental values. We are not asking Selig to weigh in on immigration policy; we are asking him to take a stand against bigotry and intolerance. Despite being petitioned by numerous members of Congress and civil rights, labor and social justice groups, Selig has not adequately addressed the issue. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/11/AR2010071103040.html
Is there an MLB all star game curse? Call me crazy, but i think a a new curse is starting in major league baseball.. I call it the "Midsummer Classic" curse. Since 2005, every team that has hosted the all star game has either not made the playoffs or have not won a playoff game. 2005: Detroit Tigers were the host, they finished 71-91 and did not make the playoffs 2006: Pittsburgh Pirates were the host, and of course, did not make the playoffs. 2007: The San Fransisco Giants hosted, and did not make the playoffs. 2008: The ALMIGHTY New York Yankees hosted the all star game in their final season at the old Yankee stadium, and even they did not make the playoffs! It was the 1st time since 1993 that the yanks did not make the playoffs... 2009:The St. Louis Cardinals hosted, however they did make the playoffs. They were the first team to win their division, but they were swept in the 1st round by the dodgers. 2010:The Angels hosted this year, and although they were 2 wins away from the world series last year, they are on the brink of not making the playoffs this year. What do you guys think? It may be a coincidence since this is pretty recent, but i think its an interesting curse to consider. Since 2003, only the 2004 hosts (the houston astros) won a playoff game...so I'll say the curse started in 2005.

Baseball's popularity dropping? I keep hearing Baseball's popularity is dropping, I see that there TV Ratings drop every year, This past year they had the worst All Star game rating every. There's other people who say it's America's pastime I don't think the sport is as popular as people think it is. I know there drawing well at ball games with people coming out. But Baseball is surely not what is it use to be. I wonder if any one has any facts or stats on baseball's popularity in 2010, not years ago?
If illegal aliens want amnesty from the USA, why would they run on a field of a MLB game with a Mexican flag? Men Run Onto Citi Field With Mexican Flags Updated: Saturday, 31 Jul 2010, 5:42 PM EDT Published : Saturday, 31 Jul 2010, 9:25 AM EDT NEW YORK - Two men carrying Mexican flags in protest of Arizona's immigration law ran into the outfield during the seventh inning of the New York Mets' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night at Citi Field. The men were apprehended by security fairly quickly without much incident. Prior to the game, about 40 people across the street from the ballpark chanted "Oppose racism!" and "Boycott Arizona!" Others stationed closer to the subway exit handed out leaflets that requested Major League Baseball move next year's All-Star game out of Phoenix. “It’s not going to distract me. I’m here to play baseball,” Diamondbacks interim manager Kirk Gibson said after his team’s 9-6 victory over the Mets. “You have an opinion, I have an opinion. They have the right to say what they want, but it’s no distraction.” As the trespassers were taken from the field people in the stands started chanting "USA, USA." http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/local_news/queens/men-run-onto-citi-field-with-mexican-flags-20100731

This JUSt in!! 2010 NHL Winter Classic !!!? ASSOCIATED PRESS INC., 28-1-2009 - Amidst all of the buzz coming from the NHL All Star Game in Montreal, the league has determined a destination for the 2010 Winter Classic. Instead of building a rink inside of a baseball or football stadium, the NHL's operations crew will build the frozen creation in the parking lot of the home of the New Jersey Devils; the Prudential Center. Make shift stands will be erected along with an ice rink atop the asphalt of the main parking lot, right in front of the venue. The jumbotron on the front of the arena will be used as an instant replay board for all of the great plays we hope to see. Surely, the 2010 Winter Classic will undoubtedly carry on the tradition of the previous two ones the league held. It is sure to be a classic with the skyline of Newark, New Jersey peering down onto the frozen creation. Dan Rosen drosen@nhl.com

According to the MLBnetwork Baseball prospective the Yankees in 2010, WONT MAKE THE POST SEASON? Im watching the MLB Network and they predict the Yankees this year will be MUCH WORSE compared to last year! They are predicted to win only 90 games and comming in 3rd place in the AL East with the Rays and Red Sox ahead of them with the Red Sox winning 95 games and the Rays 93. How do you feel about this? Are you shocked at this? I was watching the tv show 30 clubs in 30 days and this is what the "experts" predicted! If they can "barely" win their division, how do you expect them to dominate against everyone else? They arent really that much better than the other good teams? Its not like the Yankees are the "ONLY" team with good talented players. Look at Johan Santana, Albert Pujols, Tim Lincecum, Joe Mauer, Ryan Howard, Matt Holiday and all the other great hall of fame type players that are NOT Yankees. The Yankees cant just buy all the great players with their team as the only team with all star or hall of fame type players. They could have gotten much better players than Granderson and nick johnson. What do you think? How do the Yankees fans feel about the rival Red Sox and brand new expansion team Rays dominating them? take a look at this! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/354832-2010-mlb-al-east-projected-standings Why would the Yankees make their team worse if they can afford everything? WATCH 30 CLUBS IN 30 DAYS on the MLB Network!!! You wont believe it!

2010 MLB HR Derby. Can we see G. Jones? I really would like to see Garrett Jones in the big Home Run Derby event. I watch A LOT of baseball; especially NL Central and I must say that G. Jones has a freakin' sweet swing. It's quick, effortless, yet full of leverage. I've seen the guy hit 500 ft. bombs with a quick swing when his mind-frame is "protect the plate". It's even more impressive when he is in an aggressive count and guesses fastball (i.e. the homerun @ Phillies into Ashburn Alley). I just think he would put on an impressive display seeing as how he can really launch a ball without expending much energy. He just needs to make it to the All Star game. haha. How do you think G. Jones would do in the HR Derby. Who do you think will make some noise in the HR Derby? Right! I know, guys. He's gotta make it there first. There are a lot of guys around the league that i'd love to see hit some Home Run Derby. I think they should have a player and coach voted POWER HITTER DERBY, throwing out the "All-Star" qualification. That would be almost as exciting as the Superbowl. How bout it.
Are today's players oblivious to the fact that they owe their financial futures to a guy named Curt Flood? Just take a look at this latest posting from Yahoo. Even at today's market look at how management undervalued these great players. You reaction to these numbers please! Ted Williams The left fielder was a 19-time All-Star player with 521 career home runs and a .344 lifetime batting average. He had a total of 2,654 hits and an impressive 1,839 runs batted in (RBIs). Highest salary: $125,000 (1959) Adjusted salary (2010): $935,000 Hank Aaron “Hammerin’ Hank” was a 25-time All-Star. He set the MLB record for the most career home runs with 755 and had a .305 lifetime batting average. The outfielder’s career RBIs were 2,297. Highest salary: $250,000 (1976) Adjusted salary (2010): $960,000 Willie Mays Considered by many to be the greatest all-around player of any era, Mays was a 24-time All-Star who knocked out 660 home runs. He earned a .302 lifetime batting average, a whopping 3,283 hits, and 1,903 RBIs. Highest salary: $180,000 (1971) Adjusted salary (2010): $965,000 Joe DiMaggio The New York Yankees center fielder was a 13-time All-Star, the only player to play in the All-Star Game in every season he played. His career stats include 361 home runs, a .325 lifetime batting average, 2,214 hits and 1,537 RBIs. Highest salary: $100,000 (1949) Adjusted salary (2010): $900,000 Mickey Mantle Legendary National Baseball Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle was a 20-time All-Star who tallied 536 home runs, a .298 lifetime batting average, 2,415 hits and 1,509 RBIs. Highest salary: $100,000 (1963) Adjusted salary (2010): $710,000 Babe Ruth “The Bambino” hit 714 home runs and finished with a .342 lifetime batting average. Highest salary: $80,000 (1930) Adjusted salary (2010): $1,050,000 Adjusted for inflation, Ruth’s salary would be a little over $1 million. Baseball survey anyone? As when near the midpoint of the 2010 campaign, its time to evaluate where you respected teams currently stand today. 1. What is teams biggest strength as of right now? 2. What is their biggest weakness? 3. On a scale of 1-10, how well have you been doing at catching up with the games? 4. How many games have you attended so far this season? 5. Which player has been the biggest asset to your team's success? 6. Who has been the biggest surprise? Now onto some random questions 7. On a scale of 1-10, how well have you been caught up with the Strasburg fever? 8. Which rookie has made the biggest impression so far this season in your opinion? 9. Which baseball team needs to be represented in a movie and why? 10. Name one active player who should make an appearance on SNL. (Do not include players who've been on the show before.) 11. Name one baseball player who should write an autobiography. 12. During the All-Star break, do you enjoy watching the festivities the night before the big game or do you look forward to watching the game itself? BQ: To anyone who is my contact, how has your summer been?
Your opinion Arizona Boycotts Backfiring? The calls for a boycott of the Grand Canyon State over the passage of a stringent illegal immigration enforcement law may be backfiring on the groups opposed to Arizona’s actions. Like the outrageous and intentional misinterpretations of the law, SB 1070, the boycott is all hype and no substance. The boycott has impacted some businesses here negatively, but supporters of the law are flocking to Arizona to counter the financial impact. “There are no negative effects I can quantify,” said Tony Venuti, publisher of AZ Tourist News and webmaster of a pro-Arizona business site. “There have been cancelations caused by the boycotts, but for every cancellation, four or five (reservations) are coming in.” Tourism has not dropped by the amount hoped for by boycotters like Rep. Raul Grijalva (D.-Ariz.). Grijalva got a boost among his Hispanic supporters, a minority voting bloc in the state, but when re-election time comes, he is likely to face a backlash from Arizona voters who view his action as contrary to his oath of office. Venuti said the boycott and the SB 1070 controversy is getting the kind of attention that businesses are able to take advantage of by making it a marketing opportunity for the state. More tourism businesses are reporting to Venuti that they are seeing increased business that they attribute to the reaction against the boycott calls. Venuti says the news coverage of the immigration enforcement law is skewed to represent the 30% nay-saying minority opposed to the law, and largely ignoring the viewpoint of an overwhelming number of supporters. “The boycotters are like a bully, but the good people of this country aren’t going to stand by and let this happen,” Venuti said. “Let’s roll for Arizona, like the heroes of 9-11did on that airplane over Pennsylvania.” Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has declined to consider pulling the 2011 All-Star Game out of Arizona, ignoring a “distressed” and “disappointed” New York Rep. Jose E. Serrano who introduced a House resolution requesting the game be moved. The MLB Players Association, acting independently, called for repeal of SB 1070, saying it could impact hundreds of baseball players who are citizens of other countries. Phoenix Deputy City Manager David Krietor estimated in May that the city could lose $90 million over the next five years from hotel and convention losses. Statewide, Arizona’s tourism business and industries predicted up to $100 million in lost revenues this year. The exact numbers are hard to nail down because the boycott’s true impact is difficult to measure and the actual number of illegals receiving state benefits and education are unknown. Arizona has spent more than $2 billion for social services, education, law enforcement and prosecutions related to illegal immigrants and their families over the past few years. State officials predict that the growing costs may top $1 billion for 2010. There is no dispute that the numbers of Mexican nationals crossing the border to shop in the United States are down drastically since the law was signed. Businesses near the border seem to be seeing a decline in sales. A Mexican Consulate survey for 2008 concluded that visitors spent $2.7 billion in Arizona and $2.4 million daily in Pima County alone, where Tucson is located. Hundreds of American businesses along the border are reporting sales declines of 20% to 80% over previous years. The El Con Mall in Tucson, a popular shopping destination for Mexican nationals attributes 60% of past mall sales are to Mexicans. "We don't know how many people won’t come here because they saw CNN or whatever and decided not to come to Arizona. That would be almost impossible to measure," said Felipe Garcia, vice president of community affairs and Mexico marketing with Tucson’s visitor’s bureau. "We're seeing other groups very interested, they are showing stronger support to come here. That boycott didn't work very well," Nogales, Mexico, a border town where Americans cross over to shop has gone from a bustling tourist attraction to a town where many businesses are closing their doors early because of the lack of customers. Arizonans and out-of-state tourists are avoiding Nogales because of fear over the drug violence and retaliation against Americans. The National Council of La Raza’s website promoting boycotts and protests portrays the majority of Americans and Arizonans who support SB 1070 as “extremists,” who are “defining the debate on immigration, and the portrayal of Hispanic Americans, at every level.” La Raza members openly support La Reconquista, a racist movement to reclaim Southwestern U.S. territory and drive non-Hispanics out. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=37558
Should the NFL Pro Bowl be played during the mid point of the season? In many professional sport leagues such as Major League Baseball (MLB) National Hockey League (NHL), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the All-Star game is during the mid point of the season. The All Star Game is when two conferences of leagues come together to play in an exhibition game in good sportsmanship. The National Football League Pro Bowl is played after the Super Bowl is over in Honolulu, Hawaii. Although the 2010 Pro Bowl is going to be played one week before the Super Bowl in Miami, Florida where Super Bowl XLIV is going to be played. Although the Pro Bowl is played at the end of the NFL regular season, should the Pro Bowl be played at the mid point of the season? Why or why not? I believe the NFL Pro Bowl should be played at the mid point of the season after the eight week like All Star Games you see in MLB or the NBA and the game should be held at different NFL venues all over the country. Seeing the Pro Bowl at the end of the season is not as interesting as seeing the game at the mid season because after the Super Bowl is over, I am not interested professional football until the season begins again. Will, You make an interesting point of having as baseball All Star Game where the United States played Japan/Korea. I would like to see a MLB All Star Game between the United States vs. The World where American Players played International Players since baseball is a international sport played all over the world.
Is 2010 the beginning of a decade dominated by pitchers? The 1920s and 2000s were decades marked by a substantial increase of the league average of the ERA relative to the previous decades. As we know, many sports writers have referred to the 2010 season as the year of the pitcher. 2 perfect games; 5 no hitters total, 1 near perfect game (blown by a poor call in the 9th inning with 2 out), and a near no hitter with 17 strikeouts. 2010 Overall Pitching Stats LEAGUE AVERAGESGPWLERASVCGSHOIPQSERRBBSOBAA Major League Baseball13065654.113259115970530575423910.259 2000 Overall Stats LEAGUE AVERAGESGPWLERASVCGSHOIPQSERRBBSOBAA Major League Baseball16281814.7639871441757638326081045.270 Though the season is not over, that is a 0.65 difference in ERA. Basically, all other important stats are at better rates. BB/9 is lower this year and K/9 is higher. BQ. Although this year has been dominated by good pitchers, there have also been numerous good hitters. Cabrera, Hamilton, Pujols, and Votto were and are considered to have potential to be Triple Crown winners. Bautista is in line to hit 52 HRs this year, the highest since 2007, when A-Rod hit 54. Is there a bigger gap between the stars and the bench players now, too?
The baseball writers should be ashamed of themselves for not having voted in Andre Dawson into the Hall of? Fame as of 2008. Hopefully in a few weeks, we'll find out if he gets in. I think he won't get in this time around, because Jim Rice will and Rickey Henderson. Dawson's best shot is 2010. If you look at Dawson's career stats, it is a TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE that he is not in the Hall of Fame. Take a look at these career stats. Andre "The Hawk" Dawson was born in 1954. He played in the majors from 1976-1996 in parts of 21 seasons with 4 teams, the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins. In 2,627 games, Dawson had, 9,927 at bats, 1,373 runs scored, 2,774 hits, 503 doubles, 98 triples, 438 hr's, 1,591 rbi's, 314 stolen bases, .279 ba, .323 obp, .482 slugging %. Dawson played right and center field mostly. He had, 8 gold-gloves, 8 time all-star, 4 time silver-slugger, 1987 NL MVP, 1977 Rookie of the Year, and many other awards. Former teammate Ryne Sandberg campaigned for Dawson's induction during his speech at his own Hall of Fame induction ceremony. "No player in baseball history worked harder, suffered more or did it better than Andre Dawson," Sandberg said of the rifle-armed outfielder known as "The Hawk." Sandberg continued, "He's the best I've ever seen. I watched him win an MVP for a last-place team in 1987 [with the Cubs], and it was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen in baseball." Sandberg concluded, "He did it the right way, the natural way, and he did it in the field and on the bases and in every way, and I hope he will stand up here someday." Well, I hope he gets in, as a kid growing up in the 1980's, Andre was also on the highlight films on ESPN hitting HR's with the Cubs and had a great arm in outfield. Do you think he's a Hall of Famer? Also, I feel he was probably a clean player, meaning no roids, but I have no proof of that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Dawson http://www.baseball-reference.com/d/dawsoan01.shtml

Latest CMA awards. Why does Jesus get credit for beating an opponent in a contest? Another country awards show. Another football, baseball and hockey game. At the critical moment, the star athlete or celebrity is going to state that J.C. gave them talent, money and riches - as well as a win over the other team, or the award over the other recording artist, who is also a Christian, too! Aren't all the CMA and folks watching Christians anyway? Super Bowl 2010. Jesus beat the Indianapolis Colts. CMA awards... Jesus beat out Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, the Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban for CMA Entertainer of the Year. Why does Jesus give certain people millions of record sales, successes and athletic wins over the other hard working and less successful Christians? Don't state here that this isn't hypocrisy. People both praying to the same God to beat the other team or person? Here's a quote from Philippians." Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; Take that, Carrie.
How is kobe Bryant worse than Jordan.? Kobe is a better player. 1.Michael Jordan, for some reason I'll never know, briefly stepped away from the game to pursue a professional baseball career. He also retired in 1998, not because his Chicago Bulls had just won their sixth NBA Championship, but because he knew his team was falling apart. Dennis Rodman was on his way out, and so was Scottie Pippen.Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, has stuck with the Lakers throughout his entire career and will finish it where he started it. Bryant has been on his grind in Los Angeles since 1996 and is still going strong 15 consecutive seasons later, 2, During his time with the Lakers, Kobe Bryant has had several players come and go. But the one guy who has been there (aside from a few years) for the long haul is Derek Fisher. And with all due respect to Fisher, he's no Scottie Pippen.Fisher's career averages: 9 points, 3.2 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.Pippen's career averages: 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2 steals per game, including four seasons in Chicago in which he averaged more than 20 points. 3.Every NBA superstar has to deal with personnel changes around them. It's just something that's part of the game. And even though both Jordan and Bryant have seen their fair share of teammates, Bryant has seen more personnel changes than Jordan ever did.Bryant's played with so many different players, from Smush Parker to Kwame Brown to Shaquille O'Neal to Gary Payton and Karl Malone to Ron Artest to Adam Morrison. But Bryant has managed to win despite fighting through some key inconsistencies in his supporting cast. 4.Michael Jordan has five career regular season MVP awards while Kobe Bryant has just one.Does that really mean that Bryant was only the best player in the league for one full season? No, of course it doesn't.The MVP award is overrated and misleading, unless you really think the careers of Dirk Nowitzki and Allen Iverson have been as good as Bryant's. 5. The age-old argument against Kobe Bryant used to be that "he only won three titles because of Shaq."Well, fast forward to 2010, and Bryant has more titles (five) than Shaq (four) and was the star of those two teams while Shaq played second fiddle to Dwyane Wade.I'm not saying Bryant would have won all three titles without Shaq, but it's certainly not the only reason that he did.Bryant averaged at least 25 points, five assists and five rebounds every season during the Lakers three-peat from 2000-02. 6. Kobe plays better through injuries than jordan. Well, after the 1986 season when he broke his foot and missed 64 games, Jordan never really suffered through debilitating injuries like Kobe Bryant has.Of course, he dominated throughout his career despite smaller injuries, and there was the famous "flu game" in the 1997 NBA Finals. But let's look at the bigger picture.Bryant has had three knee surgeries—including one this summer—and he played through pinkie and index finger injuries that required Bryant to shoot with a heavily bandaged hand.Bryant has a slight advantage in this category. 7.I n recent years, this debate generally comes down to Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson.Who's the best Laker ever? Well, even if you think that Magic is better, the fact that Bryant is even part of the conversation is a testament to all of his accomplishments. The Lakers are the greatest organization (sorry, Celtics) in the history of the sport, and Bryant is arguably the greatest player ever to wear the purple and gold. That's saying something. 8., They've both played alongside some very good and even great players.Kobe Bryant has had guys like Shaq, Pau Gasol, Fisher, Lamar Odom, etc.But Jordan played with three All-Stars (Pippen, Rodman and Horace Grant), two of the NBA's best defenders (Rodman and Pippen), one of the league's 50 greatest players of all-time (Pippen) and two good three-point shooters (Toni Kukoc and Steve Kerr).Jordan actually had more help than Bryant.
is kobe bryant better than michael jordan? My reasons are 1. Michael Jordan, for some reason I'll never know, briefly stepped away from the game to pursue a professional baseball career. He also retired in 1998, not because his Chicago Bulls had just won their sixth NBA Championship, but because he knew his team was falling apart. Bryant has been on his grind in Los Angeles since 1996 and is still going strong 15 consecutive seasons later. 2. Alright, they've both played alongside some very good and even great players. Kobe Bryant has had guys like Shaq, Pau Gasol, Fisher, Lamar Odom, etc. But Jordan played with three All-Stars (Pippen, Rodman and Horace Grant), two of the NBA's best defenders (Rodman and Pippen), one of the league's 50 greatest players of all-time (Pippen) and two good three-point shooters (Toni Kukoc and Steve Kerr). Pippen's career averages: 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2 steals per game, including four seasons in Chicago in which he averaged more than 20 points. Pippen is one of the greatest sidekicks in NBA history. Fisher? Good, but not Pippen good. 4. Every NBA superstar has to deal with personnel changes around them. It's just something that's part of the game. And even though both Jordan and Bryant have seen their fair share of teammates, Bryant has seen more personnel changes than Jordan ever did. Bryant's played with so many different players, from Smush Parker to Kwame Brown to Shaquille O'Neal to Gary Payton and Karl Malone to Ron Artest to Adam Morrison. But Bryant has managed to win despite fighting through some key inconsistencies in his supporting cast. 5. f you're from Michael Jordan's era, you probably think Jordan played tougher competition. If you're from Kobe Bryant's era, you probably think Bryant played tougher competition. This is a debate that could only be solved with the invention of a time machine, so any argument is always going to be debated or bombarded with criticism. But Bryant had to deal with the San Antonio Spurs—a mini-dynasty themselves—as well as teams like the Detroit Pistons. I'll give Bryant the edge here 6. Michael Jordan has five career regular season MVP awards while Kobe Bryant has just one. Does that really mean that Bryant was only the best player in the league for one full season? No, of course it doesn't. The MVP award is overrated and misleading, unless you really think the careers of Dirk Nowitzki and Allen Iverson have been as good as Bryant's. 7. I'm not saying Bryant would have won all three titles without Shaq, but it's certainly not the only reason that he did. Bryant averaged at least 25 points, five assists and five rebounds every season during the Lakers three-peat from 2000-02. 8. I know what you're thinking: Michael Jordan doesn't play through injuries? What? Well, after the 1986 season when he broke his foot and missed 64 games, Jordan never really suffered through debilitating injuries like Kobe Bryant has. Of course, he dominated throughout his career despite smaller injuries, and there was the famous "flu game" in the 1997 NBA Finals. But let's look at the bigger picture. Bryant has had three knee surgeries—including one this summer—and he played through pinkie and index finger injuries that required Bryant to shoot with a heavily bandaged hand. Bryant has a slight advantage in this category. 9. In recent years, this debate generally comes down to Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson. Who's the best Laker ever? Well, even if you think that Magic is better, the fact that Bryant is even part of the conversation is a testament to all of his accomplishments. Magic even said Kobe's the greatest Laker. The Lakers are the greatest organization (sorry, Celtics) in the history of the sport, and Bryant is arguably the greatest player ever to wear the purple and gold. That's saying something.
Are these good reason for why kobe is better than jordan? if jordan is better tell me why. 1.Michael Jordan, for some reason I'll never know, briefly stepped away from the game to pursue a professional baseball career. He also retired in 1998, not because his Chicago Bulls had just won their sixth NBA Championship, but because he knew his team was falling apart. Bryant has been on his grind in Los Angeles since 1996 and is still going strong 15 consecutive seasons later. 2. Jordan has 83.5 percent from the line for his career, just behind Kobe's 83.8 percent. Bryant also has the slight edge in three-point shooting, at 34.1 percent to Jordan's 32.7 percent. 3. During his time with the Lakers, Kobe Bryant has had several players come and go. But the one guy who has been there (aside from a few years) for the long haul is Derek Fisher. Has there ever been a better pitching staff than that of the 2011 Philadelphia Phillies? 1. Roy Halladay-Last year had silently his best season in the majors. Tying his career high in shutouts of last year with 4. and tying his career high in complete games with 9. He also had a new career high for strikeouts with 219. And had his 2nd lowest era 2.44, and 2nd most wins 21. Roy is a cy young candidate, and is the best right handed pitcher in baseball. 2. Cliff Lee-They already have the best righty in baseball so y not sign the best lefty in the game. Lee is lights out in the postseason, and has showed that the last 2 years, (world series this year exception) Last year was his 2nd best seaosn in the majors behind his cleveland '08 year. again he got no run support so his win total was only at 12. But era at 3.18 which was his 2nd best of career. Lee's command is whats so exceptional though, 2010 he set career highs in base on balls with only 18 the whole year! And had 185 ks which was also a career high. And 7 complete games. Lee is odviously a gamer, and HOFer. He will compete with his own teamate halladay for cy young. 3. Cole Hammels- Hammels-He is the youngest of the pitching staff at 28 was amazing when the phillies won the world series 3 years ago, and then took a set back with his poor post season play 2 years ago in loss to yanks. But last year he had a career high in his era which was 3.06, and a career high in k's with 211. He is also a lefty, which is always key to have leftys on the starting staff. 4. Roy Oswalt- Alot of people think hes aging, but his stuff is still right on. I didnt believe it at first but he actually had a career best era last year in seasons over 25 starts his era was 2.76 which was a career best. And oswalt also still has the strikeout ball posting his 3rd highest season strikeout total at 193. Roy Oswalt was actually toughest to hit last year than in his whole 10 year career at houstan. Last year hitters hit .213 against him which was by far his best. Oswalt is a HOFer and is still in prime. He is a great duo with halladay the 2 rightys and then the 2 leftys lee and hammels. 5. Joe Blanton- He is odviously not near to the same level as the first 4. But Blanton could be overlooked. Hes a quality 2 or 3 starter for most teams in the Majors. And was the ace of the oakland A's just 3 years ago. So hes still a big game pitcher, and i think he'll try to compete with the big 4 infront of him, this will motivate him to be better, and blanton still has it in him to be an all-star if he was 100% on his game. THat isnt going to happen, but the potential is still there for Joe Blanton the #5 spot starter of the Phillies. SO is this THe greatest Pitching rotation of all-time? i dont see how it could possibly not be. eliminate the earlier days of baseball cause back then they had about 3 or less starting pitchers. And then there were times when 1 good pitcher was all a team needed to be good. But this rotation is by far the greatest of all time. If you think im wrong what staff was? And please if ur gonna say htis wasnt the greatest tell me y u thnk the one u stated was. Aslo what were some other great rotations.
Toews, Stamkos, Tavares vs Kane, Kessel, Ryan? How would you rank them potential wise? Stamkos is doing very well this year, as is Tavares, infact I head on the Lightning telecast that from January onward when he was put on the 1st line, that he is the leading goal scorer over that span with 33 goals over his last 57 games, I was very impressed when I heard that, and he is also 2nd in goals this year too. John Tavares has been nothing but spectacular this year, leading the Isle's in scoring and rookies in scoring with 9 goals and 10 assists in 21 games. Jonathan Toews is off to a rocky start, just like last year when he had only 1 goal in his first 14 games but finished with 34 on the year, I'm sure he'll pick it up soon. Kessel has been brilliant for the Leafs and is there only bright spot on that team, 5 goals, and 2 assists in 8 game's is quite impressive. Kane is off to a descent point a game start, I'd like to see him produce more other tan on the powerplay though. Bobby Ryan has been alright aswell, 9 goals this year playing with Ryan Getzlaf(7th in scoring, 1st in assists) and Corey Perry(tied for 3rd in scoring in NHL). Its really hard to say who has the highest potential goal scoring wise and point was and overall career wise at this stage, all got drafted 5th overall or better, Toews(3rd) Stamkos (1st) Tavares (1st) Kane(1st) Ryan(2nd) Kessel(5th) The best shot out of all of them is EASILY Stamkos, he can really crank the puck, followed by Toews, he has an incredible release, Kessel and Tavares have the best wrist shots for sure, Kane ha sthebest backhand and saucer pass, Ryan doesn't really stand out at any one thing but is good all around at wrister, passing, one timer etc... Here is my personal ranking of the 6: Stamkos Tavares Kessel 3 way tie imo. Slowest to fastest Stamkos (guy has crazy legs) Kane (Toews is faster but Kane is overall more shiftier and takes off right away) Toews (long, fast speed skater-type stride, very desceptive and sneaky) Ryan ( spin-o-rama goal showcases his extra gear of speed) Tavares ( Tavares has average acceleration but his top end speed is very underrated alot by ppl) Tavares is slow but makes up for it with the kind of hockey sense few NHL'ers possess in the NHL, the best hand eye I've seen since Mario, I'm not saying he's anyhting close to Lemieux but man is his hand eye something to behold, if he ever took up baseball he'd be a star at that aswell, seldom uses a slap shot but has a very wicked wrist shot, very accurate. If your interested in knowing what type of players are coming up within the next 2 years that can be as good as these players or even better, here are a few names to keep an eye out for. Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Shane McColgan, Vladimir Taresenko, Mikael Granlund and of course Brett Connolly, keep an eye out for these players, they are absolutely electric, (I have a feeling that Hall is going to be really something special, projected 1st overall in 2010) Sean Couturier of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, QMJHL, 6'4, 190lbs, supposed to be the next Vincent Lecavalier, lets just hope he doesn't get lazy after he wins a cup like Lecavalier did.

MLB Survey: Yes or No? Predictions. (+BQ)? I haven't done one of these in a long while... 1. Are the Indians for real? Will they hold onto the AL Central to the All Star Break? End of the season? 2. Will Matt Joyce have the leading BA to the Trading Deadline? End of the season AL Batting Champ? 3. Will Jose Bautista get more homers in 2011 than 2010? (20 as of now in 44 games, 54 all of last season) 4. Will the Giants win the NL West after the loss of Buster Posey? 5. Justin Verlander will throw a second no-no this season? BQ: For those who play fantasy baseball team, looking at your roster, do you have more players from one team than the others? (Ex: Say you have 6 Diamondbacks). If so, is that your favorite team?
Do the White Sox really have tons of good prospects? It's been around 7 years since i started following baseball religiously and it seems every year there is some new guy they are hyping up to be the next star. Were they serious or just using it at trade bate. Take a look at what has become of each year's star of the future since 2003. 2003- Jeremy Reed- traded for Freddy Garcia in June 2004...Became a journeyman outfielder for a few years. 2004- Felix Diaz- Made a few starts and never returned to the bigs. Cut by the team prior to the 2006 season. 2005- Brandon McCarthy- Pitched well as a spot starter in 2005 and was traded to Texas for John Danks in 2006. He has since been a mediorce starter for Texas and their AAA team. 2006- Josh Fields- Traded in 2009 for Mark Teahen. Fields has only played two games for KC this year. 2007- Jerry Owens- Lead the team in hitting in 2007 and was cut prior to the 2009 season. Now out of baseball. 2008- Aaron Poreda- Traded to the Padres for Jake Peavy. Yet to make a start for San Diego. 2009- Tyler Flowers- Played a few games last season. Yet to make a big league start this year (catcher) 2010- Dayan Viciedo- TBD Is it a trend that they all end up being traded and failing? Does every team do this? or am I thinking to hard about this?
future alignment of the nhl? the future nhl, i figured it out! canada east 1) montreal canadians 2) ottawa senators 3) toronto maple leafs 4) quebec nordiques (formerly the columbus blue jackets as of 2014-15) 5) halifax voyageurs (formerly the florida panthers as of 2016-17) canada west 1) vancouver canucks 2) edmonton oilers 3) calgary flames 4) winnipeg jets (formerly the atlanta thrashers as of 2010-11) 5) hamilton tigers (formerly the phoenix coyoties as of 2011-12) northeast 1) boston bruins 2) new york rangers 3) buffalo sabres 4) new jersey devils 5) philadelphia flyers east us 1) tampa bay lightning 2) pittsburgh penguins 3) washington capitals 4) new york islanders 5) carolina hurricanes central 1) st. louis blues 2) chicago blackhawks 3) nashville predators 4) minnesota wild 5) detroit red wings west 1) los angeles kings 2) anaheim ducks 3) san jose sharks 4) colorado avalanche 5) dallas stars it was nice to try hockey in the south, but most parts must be built to sustain nhl not given it right away, in 2030's we might be diversed enough to continue expansion in the south but canada deserves hockey, it will help build the mystique of the nhl with passionate fans eagerly waiting for a hometown team to cheer, hooray for hockey, hooray for canada, eastern conference: canada east northeast east us western conference: canada west central west us with the divisions in mind i think they should play games heavily influenced by division and conference, not many inter conference games at all, thats why i think hamilton should be in the west so fans in the area could see every team, sorry fans of florida, atlanta, columbus, and phoenix but honestly i dont think your ready for the nhl, i understand the transplanted fans would be dissapointed, but thats why i think they should all be granted minor league teams and have the nhl built a solid rep through getting involved in the communities, teaching them what hockey is, and building itself fanatics and future players from the ground up. handing them a nhl franchise right away is nice but its like puting a ton of nascar races in canada, growing up in new england and florida i understand both sports fans views, the south is an entity in itself, i understand why more people in the south like college football having a sense of state pride because there states are so damn big, and baseball and basketball because its cheap to play and i never played anything but street hockey cause it was too expensive, and they like their racing, just not much history or passion to watch, understand, or play the game of hockey there. to each his own, with the right determination and effort non hockey markets could make the big leagues, canada loves hockey, they deserve better for their love of the game, major league support coast to coast. thoughts?

Hispanic Groups Revive Push for All-Star Game Boycott should sports baseball teams and politics." not mix ? With Major League Baseball's All-Star Game less than two weeks away, Hispanic groups outraged over Arizona's attempt to crack down on illegal immigrants are pressing players and fans to sit this one out. Even though the state's controversial immigration law has been put on hold by the federal courts, opponents say a boycott is still a good idea. "We just encourage everyone who opposes racism and discrimination, think about children separated from families, to come out and stand in solidarity with all the children," boycott organizer Anayanse Garza told MyFox Phoenix. Arizona's crackdown, which would allow police officers to check the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally, drew national attention when it was first signed into law in April 2010. Critics said it would lead to unconstitutional racial profiling while supporters argued the state is helping federal authorities who aren't doing their job in enforcing immigration law at the border. But in July 2010, a U.S. district judge granted the Obama administration's request to block the most controversial parts of the law. Other parts took effect, such as a ban on obstructing traffic while seeking or offering day-labor services on streets. And the law has served as a model for similar efforts in other states. The Supreme Court is expected to weigh in on the law at some point. Hispanic groups began protesting the All-Star Game last year, pressing baseball commissioner Bud Selig to move the event from Phoenix. But after that failed, protestors are now focusing on a boycott. Even though the Arizona law is in limbo, boycott organizers believes their protest will still resonate with players and fans alike. "A lot of them will feel in their heart they are doing the right thing by not coming to Arizona and breaking the boycott," boycott organizer Luis Osorio told MyFox Phoenix. The Diamondbacks don't believe fans will stay away from the game because of the protest. "The timing of this law being on hold right now is good of the game and us," said Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall. "Obviously there's a lot of noise around that and there should have been, but in our opinion you really should not mix sports baseball teams and politics." Grand Theft Auto 5 Wishlist? I dont know about you guys but I loved San Andreas and I wouldn't mind if GTA 5 took place there again.I loved all the flaws of GTA:San Andreas, how people fight and act were funny moments, and all the glitches, like this one time the 1st mission,I went to get a haircut with Ryders,as CJ,and I had a baseball bat,Ryder is smoking and when I hit him he instantly teleports in a star formation on the ground. He bled and made the idiotic sound "ooohh...dawww...ooohhh."But now with technology today, those flaws are elimanated, but I would talk about that anymore. Here is what I personally would like: 1.An American city...Not London..Not China...No stupid 18th century bs. 2.Have your character in a gang again. 3.Modern day,GTA:3 were the 70s,GTA:VC were the 80s,GTA:San Andreas were the 90s,GTA 4 was 2000.Make it like 2010,with the newest available items. 4.More than 120 missions like San Andreas!!!!Not like 80 with GTA 4. 5.Better connection online, once I join a game online about 5 seconds later I lose connection to the match and im sent to a new one and the same thing happens again,my router is fine I always have 100% green bar connection. 6.More side activites after you beat the game no boring killing 100 pigeons.. I don't know what else I would add,but if they improved the little things i'll be happy. You guys list some ideas,im interested in them.OH I DONT CARE IF YOU HATE MINE SO DONT BOTHER HATING THEM. GTA 3 did a reeaall good job basing it in 2001...it was horrible...I ment to press the 8 button for GTA 4,I got caught in the moment doing the 70s..80s..90s thing.
Which of these 2 unlikely MLB baseball events will happen first and why? The Chicago Cubs winning the World Series, or the National League finally wining the all-star game? And why do you think that one of these 2 most unlikely events will happen first? Remember the Chicago Cubs haven't won the World Series since 1908. And the National League haven't won the pointless All-star game since 1996, so at least one of these unlikely events happening, during my lifetime, which the National League winning an all-star game, but always hav found some way to blow it since 1997. I don't know about you, but I for one, will not be sad, if the 2010 Alll-star game gets canceled, or moved to the moon, to see if the same event will happen there, with the National League choking in the all-star game.
