Ncaa Softball World Series Knowledge Base
Can anyone explain the NCAA softball world series to me? i watched the super regionals and i knew that a few teams that i like.. Arizona, Virginia Tech, TX A&M got to the world series.. but how do the world series work? is it like the same as an baseball or NBA series? and is there a playoff at the end? is the super regionals championship just to weed out the undesirable teams for the world series?
Why is there a professional baseball league but not a professional softball league? i'm watching the NCAA softball world series (great game btw) and after seeing all of these devoted players, i really would like a legitimate reason as to why college is where their career ends. i personally love both baseball and softball but i look forward to this time of the year particularly because of the softball world series. i've heard the reason for the game not continuing past college is due to lack of interest but i find that hard to believe after watching the NCAA games all these years.
In the Women's College Softball World Series why do teams change brackets? I'm looking at the World Series bracket. For some reason the loser of game 5 (Baylor) went from the first bracket to the second. It's in basically the same place in bracket 2 as it would've been in bracket 1—Baylor is where I thought Florida would've gone. And Florida did the same thing as Baylor, but moved from Bracket 2 to Bracket 1. Why is that? (If this question made no sense, click the link and then click on the box in the middle where the 8 teams are listed.) http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/softball/d1/2011 I understand winner's and loser's bracket but why did Fla play Bama instead of ASU?
