Home Run Derby question....? Hi. Me and my buddies have had a Home Run Derby every year since 2000. Back then we were about 9 and the tradition lives on. Problem is, is that in 2006, when we used to pitch to each other, I hit the ball straight towards my friend and broke his eye socket. After that he became blind in his left eye. After that we pitch to ourselves. Question is... should we go back to pitching to each other or just play it safe? no the one who is now blind in one eye, is retired for good.

'08 Stats: .293 BA 23 HR 110 RBI '09 Stats: .325 BA 20 HR 55 RBI (Through 6/11) ...Closer Toss Up: John Rocker ('99), Eric Gagne ('02-04) or Brad Lidge ('08)? *Note - I didn't include Sammy Sosa, because it's self explanatory he used steroids. Whether it be the corked bat or the numerous 524 HR shots in a home run derby. Basically, you could order it from most likely to least likely. There's a chance all of these guy's used just like there's a chance none have. Also, there's plenty of other stars like Vladimir Guerrero, Jeff Bagwell, Frank Thomas, Albert Belle and Mike Piazza who may have used steroids, but I didn't see such stark disproportion in their stats in a short period of time. My list would be: 1) Luis Gonzalez 2) Brady Anderson 3) Derrek Lee 4) Raul Ibanez 5) David Ortiz 6) Tino Martinez 7) Jimmy Rollins 8) Josh Hamilton 9) Edgardo Alfonzo 10) Aaron Rowand And John Rocker. I think you make a good point on Hamilton, but I find it peculiar he's had a pretty sharp decline from last to this season. It's kind of funny how the Rangers have gotten better without his production though. What kind of maybe people's eye brows raise was last years home run derby. I think Luis Gonzalez's numbers were the most disproportional of all. Plus, that late 90's/early-2000's point was really the peak of the whole steroids things, with McGwire, Sosa and Bonds. Luis Gonzalez was apart of that too. Derrek Lee's numbers were also more disproportional. Out of all these guy's, I think Oritz would have been most likely to consistently use it. It's hard to imagine how someone could get that much better immediately after a trade. It's not like he wasn't a great hitter though. Steroids can't teach you eye coordination. Baseball - Being a ''hardcore'' Christian is irrelevant to someone's work. Suppodely, George W. Bush became a ''hardcore'' Christian too and stopped beng a lush, like Hamilton got off the crack, but it didn't stop him from killing tens and thousands of Iraqi civilians and losing our soldiers lives for no reason other than oil.
