All Time Home Run Leaders Knowledge Base
Does anyone think Barry Bonds deserves to be the new all-time home run leader? Today, Barry Bonds hit his 756th career home run. Does anyone think he cheated on the way there? Does anyone even care? I, for one have lost ALL respect for Bonds. There is no way this man couldn't have cheated. There's just way too much suspicion. And I really could care less that he's the new home run leader. BIG DEAL. He'll be passed within the next 5 years. Maybe even earlier, with about 60% of baseball players taking steroids nowadays.
Is Barry Bonds the Real All-Time Home Run Leader? Babe Ruth....Hank Aaron....Barry Bonds (?). Those names just don't seem to go together do they? So, who's the REAL all-time baseball home run leader? (Yes, this is a trick question because its none of them!) Great Answer to the first person who can tell who it is, where he played, who he played for and how many home runs he hit.
Who was the all-time home run leader before Babe Ruth? I was 'basking' in the 'glory' that is Barry Bonds, and thought to myself... we all know Hank Aaron owned this record before Barry, and Alex Rodriguez will probably own it soon after Barry's reign is done, and everyone (especially including the racist whites in the 1970s who threatened Aaron's life over his record chase) knows that George Herman 'Babe' Ruth owned the record before Hammerin' Hank, but whose record did the Babe break??? Surely this total couldn't have been more than a couple hundred or so (putting whoever it was in the company of Matt Stairs and Cliff Floyd), but I cannot stop thinking about this now. Who was the king of homeruns before Babe Ruth broke the record??
all time home run leader? with no offense to hank aaron he is the mlb all time home run leader until bonds ties and breaks his record why is it that everyone talks about it being the all time record when Sadaharu Oh has the ALL-time record of 868 whether its mlb or not that is the all time record why will no one on any us tv sports show or news acknowledge this fact ?
All-Time Home Run trivia? Since 1876 (the first year of the National League) nine players have been recognized as being the all-time home run leader. We all know about Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Who are the other six players who can lay claim to this record? Good job, Yank. You got it. Chaos, you are also correct. In 1876, they recognized the NA home runs. It wasn't until years later that pre-1876 records were ignored.
who are the active major league baseball walk-off home run leaders? I know that David Ortiz has six, and I know the top 12 all-time, only Barry Bonds is among that group with ten. Jimmie Foxx, Stan Musial, Babe Ruth, Frank Robinson and Mickey Mantle are the all-time leaders with 12. But I want to know the current active all-time leaders list.
Who is the greatest home run hitter of all time? Take into mind AB to HR ratios and everything. Forget about the final numbers like Hank Aaron and Bonds. I don't believe them to be the best. There have been a number of players who have had their careers cut short due to injuries, that could've been the all-time leader. I'm still stuck between Mark McGwire and Babe Ruth. For all of you McGwire haters, take into mind that if he was as healthy as Bonds and played that many seasons, he would undoubtedly have over 1,000 homers.
So you think you know all about sports? SURVEY about baseball! GOOD LUCK! (10 points for first to get it right) 1. What are the names of the two different leagues in Major League Baseball? 2. Who is the all time home run leader in baseball history? 3. Which pitcher is the all time leader in wins? 4. Which team won the World Series last year? 5. What city is the Baseball Hall of Fame located in?
Is there anywhere I can find players home run totals against specific teams? I'm trying to find out leaders in home runs against specific teams (specifically against the Detroit Tigers, like, who leads all time in home runs against the Tigers). It was brought about because I was in a discussion about Jim Thome, and remarked about how it seemed like he always did very well against the Tigers. Being a Tiger/Baseball fan, I'm just bored and interested in this kind of thing, so a site with these kind of stats would be awesome. Thanks
Brett favre is not good, all of his "records" come from having a long healthy career. Do you agree? All his records are in the "counting" stats meaning stats that add up over time. ex. in baseball being the all time home run leader compared to highest career batting average. All his records are a side effect of his one real record his consecutive games Yes he has 44 more tds than Marino but he has 1300 more passing attempts Favre had 2 great years but that is it. If he would have got hurt once none of his other records would have followed because once the streak was broken he would have missed more games for lesser injuries *******There were only two years in his career where you could argue he was even maybe the best of that year but never at any time did he play like any of the true greats of all time. His stats may have passed them because of his number of games. IF YOU HAD A GOOD TEAM WITH A FOUR YEAR WINDOW FAVRE WOULD NOT BE IN YOUR TOP 10 PICKS ALL TIME TO LEAD THAT TEAM. Career average 27tds 18 int also he holds the record for most ints thrownin a career Brady has never even thrown more than 14 int Cisco you need to watch more games. And like most favre fans you missed the point. Marino was usseless his last 3 years Also the fact you think i invented the term counting stats truely shows you ignorance the point is how can you be the greatest of all time if you may have never even been the greatest of any 4 year time. He never carried a team he never did anything except play well on a great team. Brady Marnio were all there team had at many point in there career
Is this a sign of the Apocalypse? First, the Police is back together, then DLR is back with Van Halen and going on tour this fall, now Barry Bonds is the all-time home run leader. If the Cubs win the World Series, are we doomed?

Why is Baseball so numbers concious? Should it be? Sadaharu Oh hit 800 plus home runs, shattering Aaron's record, but no one knows of him outside of Japan. The argues against him being the all time home run leader are obvious - smaller parks, different caliber of pitchers, etc. That's always the case though with any attempt to rate players by historical players. Unless they play against each other, in the same environments, you have to look at the variables. There's park size, juiced ball, dead ball, pitcher caliber, fitness regimen, steroids, rotation depth, average innings a starter pitches, pitchers used per game, distance to mound, the list is seemingly endless. That said, is it accurate to weigh someones ability as a ball player based on these magic numbers we hold dear? Does the fact that Mussina did what he did in the steroid era without a dominant fastball mean anything to someone who would say, "he doesn't match up at all against the numbers Tom Seaver put up"? No other sport cares about their magic numbers as much as baseball does. Maybe the fantasy isn't the numbers Bonds and A Rod and McGwire put up, but rather the idea that all these records have inherent statistical meaning to the sport.
Arod has gone from 1 HR ever 14 AB to every 29 AB this year. Isn't that very close to proving that he is? a PED player who as soon as the 'roids wore off can't hit anymore. Only 8 HR this year for Arod in 68 games and he's unbelievably not going to hit 600 HR that easily let alone be the all time home run leader as was predicted last year. Are you outraged as I am at how Arod has so egregiously tanked? So then Arod is finished hitting HRs according to your theory because he has a chronic hip flexor problem. I don't accept that. He has to make adjustments because he's playing every day and almost everyone plays hurt much of the time.
Is it possible for a government to run a progressive agenda at home while financing a war at the same time? When you look at history, in particular WWI era, many of the European nations that had leaders claiming to run a progressive-type agenda at home were unable to achieve their goals because of the precedence given to the war. In the U.K. for example, there was the labor sympathizers and liberal group had to sack their campaign promise of supporting unions, Northen Ireland's right to independence and a host of other related progressive items. In Russia, the climax of the war brought the Czar to his knees. The Czar could not provide moral leadership and effective military direction to the unequipped soldiers that were being slaughtered. He was trying to run two things : (1) Lead a war abroad and (2) Keep the country from destroying itself. As history has shown, he could not duel either of these single-handedly, let alone manage two. When Wilson was confronted with the issue of war, he could find no way out of it, but he knew that all of the programs that he supported could easily have be jepordized when subordinated to the pressing wartime interests. This was a tough trial for his leadership especially at a time when Washington was fractious as ever, with Henry Cabot Lodge leading a silent campaign to bring down the Democrats and keep the Republicans in line to support the conscription. Wilson had lost all support and credibility with Democrats when he announced that the US had to go to war. This unpopularity later killed his League of Nations, his brainchild for worldpeace. The war did weaken his progressive agenda, bringing it to a standstill as most of the spending was diverted. This was also a time when the taxes were raised considerably. When looking at history and today's politics, does it ever seem likely that Obama can effectively run a campaign at home with his FDR-like projects while fighting a war in Afghanistan that requires alot of manpower and resources?
What is "fundamental baseball"? Is constantly knocking balls out of the park considered fundamental baseball? Why not, its the best thing a hitter can possibly do! The greatest players of all time are usually the home run leaders like Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds except Ruth hit more of them than entire teams and still holds the record for highest slugging percentage. Why is small ball supposed to be how baseball is supposed to be played?
So Obama has 2 daughters 6 and 9 years of age and spends all of his time campaigning away from home? Is this the kind of man you want running the country? YES his family is relevant because they will live in the white house and be around when world leaders are there if he is elected. He's running for a public office. His kids are part of the package. I haven't attacked the children and never would. I question his parenting skills and his priorities. Everyone questions McCain's family, Clinton's family, but Obama is allowed to lock his kids up in some midieval way and we aren't supposed to ask?
Which sport has taken the most heat this summer? Which sport in your opinion has lost its credibility the most and also has take the most heat? Tour De France and several of its top cyclists and leaders of the tournament getting caught/kicked outta the tournament due to steroids charges Wrestling?
