Where would you sell an amazing autographed baseball: DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe; auction or memorabilia show? This is an authentic ball signed by Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe on their honeymoon in Japan!! It is also signed by Lefty O'Doul who used to arrange for Yankee players to come to Japan, and 1951 World Series teammate Bobby Brown. It is in mint condition in a glass case. It has pictures to serve as further proof of its providence. This could sell for tens of thousands of dollars... Question is... where is the best place to sell. Trust an auction site to handle it? Take it to a memorabilia show? What does everything think?
hall OF Fame Joe DiMaggio And Silver Screen Actress Marilyn Monroe Wedding picture from 1954 with wedding? licanse and Joes hall of silver coin and Marilyns silver actress coin wondering how rare and how much it could be worth
What's the value of an autographed DiMaggio picture? I found an old black and white photograph of Joe DiMaggio tucked in an old baseball statistics book. It's a pic of Joe at bat swinging for the fences and it has his name autographed over it. I am 99% sure it is authentic. How much is it worth? And where can I go to get an honest appraisal. I know it is not worth a fortune but can someone give me a tip on how much it is worth? PS It is autographed 'Joe DiMaggio'---with no other words. I don't know much about these things and would appreciate some advice. THANKS!
Info Wanted: Babe Ruth & Joe DiMaggio Photo? This photo has been in my family for years, but I know so little about it! It's a piece of interest though, and a lot of people ask me what it's from, so I'd love more info on it. I do know that the woman in the middle is my great great aunt Mable, who was a socialite and was involved in a lot of charity fundraisers, so we're thinking it might have been an event like that. We believe Mable lived in Chicago at the time, but she moved around a lot, so it's hard to tell. If anyone knows anything at all about the event, I would love to hear it! Picture here: http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr348/annebonny10/SKMBT_C45110080211390.jpg Oops! Not DiMaggio... Lou Gehrig! Thanks for the correction. See, I told you I don't know anything about it!
Signed photo of yogi berra value? I have a picture of joe dimaggio, yogi bera, and micky mantle winning the 1960 league championship. It is signed by yogi berra. Can anyone believe this nonsense? Can u believe people will actually buy this? Your thoughts & story inside->? Alleged Nude Photo Of Yankees Legend Joe DiMaggio Up For Auction NEW YORK (WFAN) – With the Anthony Weiner sexting saga still bulging at the seams, perhaps it’s apropos that an alleged nude photo of a Yankees great has hit the auction scene. Lelands.com, an auction house based out of Long Island, is selling what they describe as an image of “Joe DiMaggio shown in all his glory basking in the showers of Yankee Stadium.” Their website boasts: “Obviously aware of being photographed in such a state, he is seen smiling for the camera … a young Joe, perhaps still in the 1930s, still in his purest youth. We are not sure how the photo made it to this point but it is 100% authentic, first generation and vintage.” Leylands CEO Josh Evans told the New York Daily News he acquired the photo six months ago from an anonymous seller. “I could never imagine Joe DiMaggio, this private individual, ever letting anyone take a photo of him in the nude with someone next to him,” Morris Engelberg, the lawyer for DiMaggio’s estate, told the paper. Evans said though he was hesitant to sell the image, “When you see a picture of Joe DiMaggio you know it’s Joe DiMaggio.” Engelberg doesn’t agree. “When Joe DiMaggio went to the bathroom in a restaurant, I always had to escort him,” he argued. “And I made sure no one took a picture of him at the urinal.” As of Monday morning, four bids had been made on the image ($1,331). The final gavel drops on June 24 at 9 p.m.
Can someone give me an estimate on what these items are worth? -Picture of Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Billy Martin, with AUTHENTIC autographs from all 3 -Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold (all without original boxes and all used) -Xbox 360 (newest model, bought for $199) barely used, with wireless controller, mic, and 4 used games -Yamaha DD-65 Electronic Drum Pad If anyone can give me an estimate on even just one of those items that'd be great. Telling me what my best option on selling these is appreciated.
What's that commercial? The commercial where you hear someone say "I am the greatest" and it shows random pictures of places in a school and then you can hear Joe Dimaggio talkin at the end...and at the end it says Be Great..
Will you proofread/edit this? Marilyn Monroe was more than just an actress and model. She is a legend that has changed Hollywood forever. She is a very inspirational person starring in her own rags to riches story. Born as Norma Jean Mortenson on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Gladys Baker, with her father’s identity unknown, Marilyn spent most of her early life in orphanages and foster homes, since her mother was admitted into a mental institution. Until, one day in 1937 Grace McKee Goddard a family friend decided to take her in. One day in 1942 Grace McKee Goddard could not afford to keep sixteen year old Marilyn anymore, so Marilyn either had to get married or return to an orphanage. Marilyn chose to marry her 21 year old neighbor James Dougherty who she had been dating for just six months on July 19, 1942. After only two years of marriage James joined Merchant Marines and was sent to the South Pacific, while Marilyn took a job on the assembly line at the Radio Plane Munitions Factory. It was then, while Marilyn was working, she was discovered. Photographer David Conover from Yank Magazine saw her while taking pictures of women contributing to the war effort. He used her for the shoot, and then began sending modeling jobs her way. Within two years Marilyn was a reputable model, had begun drama classes, and career had started to take place. So after being married to Jimmy for just under four years, she divorced him. It was then Marilyn signed her first studio contract with Twentieth Century Fox. At that time, Marilyn dyed her hair blonde and legally changed her name to Marilyn Monroe. The Shocking Miss Pilgrim in 1947 was Marilyn’s first movie role and from then on Marilyn just had minor parts in movies. It was 1953’s movie Niagara when Marilyn hit her big break, and Photoplay Magazine voted Marilyn Best New Actress Of 1953. On January 14, 1954 at San Francisco City Hall, Marilyn married for a second time to baseball player Joe DiMaggio, this time dating for just under two years. But sadly on October 27, 1954 after being married only nine months they divorced, but still remained good friends. In 1955 the pressures of Hollywood started building up on Marilyn, so she took a break and went to New York where she studied at Lee Strasberg’s acting school. by 1956 Marilyn was ready to go back to Hollywood, and she opened her own motion picture company called Marilyn Monroe Productions. She starred in two of the movies the company produced. Marilyn got married for a third time on June 29, 1956 this time to playwright Arthur Miller. He wrote a role in The Misfits just for her, and this was Marilyn’s last completed movie. Unfortunately the marriage between them didn’t last, and they got divorced on January 20, 1961. On May 19, 1962 Marilyn sang happy birthday to the president, who at the time was John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden. After her performance, there were lots of claims that Marilyn had an affair with John F. Kennedy, but it is not confirmed. Sadly, on August 5, 1962 at the age of 36, Marilyn was found dead in her Brentwood, California home. The official cause of her death is acute barbiturate poisoning caused by an overdose of sleeping pills, but many wonder if it was an accident, suicide, or a murder. A close friend of Marilyn’s, June DiMaggio claims that Marilyn was supposed to remarry Joe DiMaggio just three days after her death and Marilyn would never take her own life. Many others think that an order was sent from John F. Kennedy, to prevent a scandal to occur. What raises questions about her death is that a complete autopsy was not done. Marilyn was laid to rest at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery. Marilyn Monroe lived a life filled with glamour and excitement, but friends say she was a normal person. In Marilyn’s short life she managed to complete thirty movies, and leave one movie unfinished. Marilyn Monroe completed more in 36 years, than many do in a life time. Although no one knows for sure how Marilyn died, there is one thing for sure: Marilyn will always be a Hollywood icon.

Anyone know the answer to this riddle? On the back of the dustcover of David Halberstam's book about the American League Penant Race between the Boston Red Sox and the Yankees, The Summer of '49, there's a news photo of Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio standing side-by-side leaning on their bats. Little else is visible in the photo but you can tell that the photo was taken at a ballpark. Any observant baseball fan can tell you instantly that the picture was taken at an All-Star Game. The question is, how can you tell?
Which of the following is your favorite most unbreakable (ML) baseball record? According to http://www.about.com, below is a breakdown of 10 baseball records that are the most likely to stand the test of time: 1. Cy Young's 511 wins This record is a mortal lock to remain in place forever. The active leader is Roger Clemens, a no-doubt first-ballot Hall of Fame pitcher, with 343 victories entering the 2007 season. Clemens, who is No. 8 on the all-time list, would need more than eight more 20-win seasons to break the record. He would be 53 years old when that happened. I don't believe he has that many more comebacks. List of all-time leaders in wins. 2. Ty Cobb's .367 lifetime batting average Consider that the active leader, Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies, is 24th on this list entering the 2007 season at .334. Tony Gwynn, who is probably the best hitter of his generation, was a lifetime .338 hitter. This one is practically untouchable as well. List of career leaders in batting average. 3. Johnny Vander Meer's consecutive no-hitters Why is this unbreakable? Because nobody has achieved this feat since the relatively anonymous Vander Meer (he went 119-121 in his big-league career) threw no-hitters for the Cincinnati Reds vs. Boston at home on June 11, 1938 and on the road against Brooklyn on June 15. To erase Vander Meer from the record books, it would take three in a row. Unfathomable. 4. Cal Ripken's 2,632 consecutive games Lou Gehrig's 2,130-game streak was considered unbreakable before Ripken came along, and the former Baltimore Orioles shortstop piled 500 more games on top of that before finally sitting down on Sept. 20, 1998. His streak started on May 30, 1983. List of all-time leaders in consecutive games played. 5. Nolan Ryan's 5,714 career strikeouts Roger Clemens is a marvel at his age, but he's not the first power pitcher to be effective well into his 40s. Ryan pitched until he was 46 and played for 27 seasons, striking out more than 300 in a season six times and more than 200 in a season 12 times. Randy Johnson and Clemens are dueling for the No. 2 spot on this list, but they'd probably have to throw in the mid-90s until they're 50 to make it to the top. List of career leaders in strikeouts. 6. Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak At least one hit, every day, for two months. If you get walked three times, too bad. So teams have to pitch to you, and you have to get lucky at times, too. Pete Rose got to 44 in 1978, and Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies had a hit in 38 in a row in a streak that began in 2005 and extended into 2006. But even then the pressure was huge. Can you imagine the hype if any player reached 50? List of longest hitting streaks all-time. 7. Rickey Henderson's 130 stolen bases in a season The speed game has been deserted since Henderson and Vince Coleman were routinely stealing 100 bases a year. No player has stolen more than 100 since Coleman in 1987. In fact, no player has even swiped 80 since Henderson and Coleman each had more in 1988. The game's emphasis swung toward power in the 1990s, so unless the steal comes back into vogue at some future point, Henderson's record, set in 1982, appears to be very safe. List of all-time leaders in stolen bases in a single season. 8. Orel Hershiser's 59 consecutive scoreless innings Even more amazing, the record would have been 67 innings had postseason innings counted for the former Dodgers ace. Picture anybody throwing six consecutive shutouts, then five more shutout innings. That's a month without allowing a run. Not saying it can't happen, but it will take a special effort, some great defense, and a lot of luck. 9. Pete Rose's 4,256 hits There are a few active players with a shot at 3,000 hits, but you have to go down past No. 150 all-time to find a player under age 35 who is climbing the list in Derek Jeter. Alex Rodriguez (age 31 in 2007) isn't far behind, but both of the current Yankees stars would basically have to double their hit total to pass Rose, who was a part-time player at age 45 when he passed Ty Cobb (4,191 hits) in 1985. List of all-time leaders in career hits. 10. Barry Bonds' 73 home runs in a season There's no movement yet to put an asterisk next to it for the "steroids era" of baseball, but perhaps there should be. Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa each broke Roger Maris' record of 61 in 1998, and Bonds is the only player to hit more than 60 since then. He set the record in 2001. Now that baseball is testing (and punishing) players for using performance-enhancing substances, it will take a special effort. Ryan Howard did hit 58 homers in 2006, so he's one to watch. (NOTE: Barry Bond's home run record is not even worth being up there in 10th, more should it be like 363rd)
